Abraham's Children - The Set List BNO - 62306 The
newest release by Abraham's Children, this one is HOT!!! This
cd is a collection of all the songs the band has been performing
to rave reviews in their most recent 2006 RED & BLACK tour.
Carefully chosen to reflect the band's journey from Bubblegum
pop to Classic Rock, the list of songs includes their all-time
favorite hits Gypsy, Thank You, Goodbye Farewell, Goddess Of
Nature, as well as the band's newer pop/rock material. With a
whopping total of 17 songs in all and a special bonus track of
the romantic ballad, Sempre, this one is a steal. AC kicks out
some high energy with songs like I Do, Maybe Tomorrow and Burning
Love. Other tracks like "Passion & Innocence" reflect
a slice of the times and life of AC lead singer and talented
songwriter Jimi Bertucci. (Some sharp musicianship can be heard
from band members, Jimi Bertucci on bass, Doug Platt on guitar,
Mike Van Steinburg on drums, and Will Hare on keyboards.) Kant

Serra San Bruno is high
up in the mountains of Southern Italy. You get there on a twisting
road that snakes up through the highland forests. Trees hang
over the road to create a tunnel that filters the sun and cools
the air. Snow signs warn that, in winter, this could be a more
tortuous trail. But today the road is clear. We pass few cars.
And you have the feeling that you are experiencing something
special that has been set aside for just a few. Wild flowers
grow up out of the forest litter and vines twirl their way around
the tree trunks to search out their share of the sun. The leaves
are starting to turn their autumn shades and a variety of greens
speckle the canopy overhead. Our first stop is a Baroque church,
one of the three in this small town. All are well used, well
preserved and impressive in their architecture and presentation.
This one has some excellent wood carvings and stained glass panels
high in the walls above. The ceiling soars above to make a grand
statement. There are some beautiful palaces to see and some fine
stone work surrounding the portals. This is a very traditional
Italian town. The old men sit as they do each day in the town
square. Today the talk is about the coming olive harvest, but
the discussion is mostly about the past. The happenings of last
year, or maybe the events often years ago to them it was only
yesterday and it has been told many times before. They enjoy
a joke together and no one cares if the story is embellished
to make it a little more interesting this time around. They look
so natural against the fading paint it seems like they have been
there forever (some of them have!). When you leave Serra San
Bruno, the road falls away to the coastal plain. As you descend
you will find three small villages grouped closely together Stilo,
Pazzano and Bivongi. All have a charm and natural beauty that
you cannot forget. In these towns you will find lanes that twist
and turn, steps that will lead you to the houses that are stacked
one over the other as they perch on the hill. There is a famous
7th Century Byzantineni church, a small grotto, and the 100 metre
fall of the Marmarico Falls. Nearby, up a twisting track,! is
the monastery of S. Giovanni Therystis, surrounded by olive groves
and grape vines. We tried the local Bivongi wine that night,
rich sweet red that matched the taste oft he bunch of grapes
we had enjoyed that same afternoon. There will be little surprises
around every corner this is the joy of exploring Italian hill-top
towns. Jimi was six when he left Serra San Bruno and returned
for a short 3 month visit when he was 12. Plans to tour southern
Italy are in the works. |

Some Things
Last Forever - 2005 BNOS4026 - Words & Music by Jimi Bertucci
- Some Things Last Forever Jimi's poetic flair for writing love
songs comes shining through in Some Things Last Forever. Anyone
and everyone who has ever fallen in love will relate to this
one. As one of the most requested tunes by fans attending the
band's concerts......... " Leonardo and Van Gogh would sacrifice
I know and kings would give up thrones to be with you "
WOW. Abraham's Children finally decided to add it as a regular
to their live show set list. Smart move on their part!

A CULTURE HOOKED ON OIL - Do we even have a choice anymore of whether
to drive or not? Face it, our society is a car-happy, and I'm
talking rev the engine, let it burn, straight addicted to gas-guzzling
beasts! A slight glance into the media will prove my point that
the major car manufacturers are spending multitudes more on marketing
SUV's than they are on whatever hybrids or economical mileage
models that are available today. Perhaps if a high-class dealer,
like Mercedes or BMW were to really push an ad
campaign about their brand new, more "earth-friendly"
vehicles, it might start a trend among people who can afford
to be conscious of such things. However for the majority of Americans,
our main focus is getting to and from either work, or the stores
we must frequent during our typical routines. The way in which
most suburban ...(more)
