Buddah Records: Was the ultimate bubblegum
label . It was the home to 1910 Fruit Gum Company, Neil Sedaka
, Paul Anka Abraham's Children, Ohio Express , Shadows of Knight,
David Cassidy, and an endless list of others. The founding member
of Buddah was a visionary man named Neil Bogart. Abraham's Children
first met Neil, when he was invited to attend a showcase of the
band, in Toronto, Canada. GAS Records , the Children's Canadian
label , had set up this elaborate concert showcase in the premier
hotel, Inn On The Park , Neil was flown in with around 15 other
major US labels. The Children were on tour at the time and flew
in especially for this gig. Upon their arrival they were greeted
by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra which performed two songs with
the Children . Although the Children had been smooshed and entertained
by many of the record companies represented, The Children and
it's management team decide to sign with Buddah Records and Neil
Bogart . The first single was "Goodbye Farewell" a
pop song penned by Jimi B. This would be the introduction of
the band to the USA. They would eventually release two more singles
"Thank You" which was played on American Bandstand's
rate a record and Won!! and "Gypsy" would hit # 75
on the Cashbox chart and top 100 in Billboard. Today Buddha Records
is back spelled differently and providing some of the catalog
that they were once so famous for.

Winning Side: 1975 United Artists Records
- BNOS4008 Words & Music by Jimi Bertucci This would be the
first single that Jimi B would release under the production band
name ANGEL (pre-US band), since leaving Abraham's Children. His
style had taken a directional change. Using sax and featuring
backing vocals by Cathy Young and Beverly D'Angelo. It also featured
some great players, including Duane Ford on keys, The song had
an R&B feel; although it was tight and had a strong hook,
radio play was limited, because of the word ("queer"
is apparently worth censoring at this point in time). His reference
at the end of the song, "Hey Jack, You ain't got nothin'
on me now, boy," alluded to a management contract dispute.
Recorded at Eastern Sound Toronto Canada. Engineered by Ken Freisen

Some Things Last Forever - 2005
BNOS4026 - Words & Music by Jimi Bertucci - Some Things Last
Forever Jimi's poetic flair for writing love songs comes shining
through in Some Things Last Forever. Anyone and everyone who
has ever fallen in love will relate to this one. As one of the
most requested tunes by fans attending the band's concerts.........
" Leonardo and Van Gogh would sacrifice I know and kings
would give up thrones to be with you " WOW. Abraham's Children
finally decided to add it as a regular to their live show set
list. Smart move on their part!

Golden Bells 2004 - BNOS4027 Words
& Music by Jimi Bertucci - When listening to songs there
are two factors that can result in whether you like the song
or not. The first is the melody and the second is the lyrics.
In opening my ears to Golden Bells I was not clear as to my natural
instincts I have for so long been accustom to...does this mean
I don't like the composition, actually far from it. It tells
me to listen again and again. That in itself can be more valid
than just hearing the song to determine that it's an ok song.
Golden Bells is haunting melodically and lyrically, well it's
Jimi Bertucci's way of telling us that hope can still ring in
our lives if we want it to. Featuring Mike Babbitt on drums and
Steve Lopez on Bass.

Goddess Of Nature: 1974 United Artists
Records - BNOS4010 Words & Music by Jimi B & Paul Gross
- This song was inspired by the Herbal Essence Shampoo girl,
a animated character. When Jimi first saw the character, he mentioned
how pretty even a cartoon can be. He started writing the song
and introduced it to Paul Gross, their producer. Paul quickly
fell in love with the song and idea. He would help Jimi finish
the song. It became a hit in many markets and was also on K'TEL'S
Music Power 22 original hits. Get the re-mastered version on
the Best Of Abraham's Children. Some great strings by D. Van
De Pitte. Recorded at Manta Sound Toronto, Canada. Lee DeCarlo
engineer.

Burning Love: 1975 United Artists Records
- BNOS4011 Words & Music by Jimi B. Having the freedom to
produce music must be a great way to spend your time. This is
from the second production band that Jimi put together, called
Space Patrol. I'm surprised that this super pop song didn't fly
up the charts. It has all the ingredients of what a good hit
record sounds like. It received enough attention that Jimi had
to put a live band together for performances. The band would
do one tour in Eastern Canada, during the summer. Graham Greene
would be the sound engineer. Mark Bajona played lead guitar,
Chris Bennett on rhythm guitar, and Chet Paszkowski on drums,
and Jimi Bertucci on bass and keyboards. Recorded at Eastern
Sound Toronto Canada. Engineered by Ken Freisen

Children's Song 1972 From the Time album.BNOS4012
Words & Music by Jimi Bertucci. When composing songs it is
sometimes difficult to decide what is a good topic and a not
so good a topic. Children's Song is one of those that really
grows on you. The elaborate strings and that nice touch of the
French horn at the end is juicy. The harmonies by Ron, Brian
and Jimi are hot. These guys new what they were doing in the
studio and live. I thought this was one of the best tracks on
the album. " No listening to the clock ringing in the morning."

It's Good It's Funky But It's White -
1976 BNOS4013 Words & Music by Jimi Bertucci. Another qurky
song that got the attention of many radio stations but few would
take a risk and play it. Jimi has a lot of balls when taking
chances with his writing. The good thing was that United Records
gave him carte blanc when it came to producing and writing. The
interesting thing about this track was that they decide to make
the B side instrumental with a sax doing the melody. Moses Hazan
ripped a great sax solo on this as well as some fine keyboards.
This track features movie star Beverly D'Angelo and Cathy Young
on backing vocals. Chet Pazskowski on drums, Mark Bajona on guitar
Jimi on bass and vocals. Engineered by Ken Freisen known for
his work with Gordon Lightfoot, Elton John and many others. Produced
by Jimi Bertucci. Recorded at Eastern Sound, Toronto, Canada.

Call My Number - 1980 BNOS4014 Words &
Music by Jimi Bertucci. I love this song. Inspired by tinsel
town and one of his lady friends that moved to Hollywood to pursue
an acting career. He would often get phone calls from her as
she attended hollywood bashes and get ripped out of her head.
The phone number in the song was actually Jimi's home number.
Recorded at Cottingham Sound in Toronto, Canada. Featured Rob
Guseve on keys, John Chirowski on bass, Peter Follett on guitars,
Craig Brian on drums. Engineered by Tom Atom produced by Jimi
Bertucci

Subway 9 1997:BNOS4031 Words & Music
by Jimi Bertucci Recorded at Eis Cafe Studios in Long Beach,
California. I love this song. When we asked Jimi what the song
was about he explained. " My uncle Nazzarano worked for
the (TTC) Toronto Transit. He would tell me all these stories
about the characters that would ride the trains late at nigh.
At time he would be aware of some of those people that were indecisive
about life and new that some of them would try and jump. Although
his English was not that great he managed to talk many of them
out of jumping." One of the lyrical lines in the song says.
Fellini would be proud of this circus underground." Jimi
was very familiar with riding the tube. If you missed the last
train number 9 you were screwed. Features Mike Cherney on guitars,
Dave Valdez on Drums, Robert Hoelting on keys and backing vocals,
Jimi Bertucci bass, acoustic guitar and vocals.

New York Lights 1981:BNOS4029 Words &
Music by Jimi B - This song was part of the A.& M. session.
Jimi decided he did not want this to be on he album. The studio
was filled with animated fun and the ripping lead guitar break
by BB Gabor is classic. The song was inspired while Jimi lived
in New York. The dance scene was starting to happen and clubs
like studio 54, The Red Parrot and The Green Lantern were hot.
The backing vocals on this track are awesome Jimi and BB had
a great blend together. Prakash John adds a funky perspectrive
with his fat bass, somewhat like his famous bass line on Lou
Reeds Take A Walk On The Wild Side. Recorded at Masters Workshop
Toronto Canada. Engineered by Steve Vaughan, George Semkiw. Asst.
engineer Paul Massey.

All American Boy 1981-A&M BNOS4016
Words and music by Jimi Bertucci Originally on the A&M Records
album Jimi B. This was the first single from the album and though
it showed a lot of promise Canadian radio stations did not get
the tongue in cheek about the song. Here's some trivia. This
song was recorded on United Artists Records as the A side to
Winning Side. When it was re-recorded for the A&M album some
of the lyrics were changed. Jimi felt that some of the words
were lame so he added some new lyrics.

Hot Love 1972: Gas Records -BNOS4017 Words
& Music by Paul Gross - This was one of the first songs that
Paul brought to the band. We gave a listen and I can speak for
all.....we were not that impressed with the song. We asked Paul
to leave the song with us and we would try different things with
it. We worked on the song and we realized what the song was missing
was the groove. That's when we tried an off beat....let's explain
this. Instead of coming down on the beat we would play on the
AND...something like one AND, the bass would follow playing off.
We then added a Leslie to the guitar, now that was trippy. We
approached Paul with this new arrangement and he was thrilled.
We recorded the song as "Captain Midnites Dirty Feat"
and if you want to know the story behind that name click on the
name. This was the bands first single. It was released after
an appearance at Toronto's Center Island concert where 30,000
people attended. The sleeve to the single was a picture of the
Island concert with a crowd scene on the front and the Fab 4
on the back....it was a great concept, the flip side was "Take
Care Of Business". Recorded at RCA Studios. George Semkiw
engineer

Goodbye Farewell 1972: Gas Records -BNOS4018
Words & Music by Jimi B- Goodbye Farewell was written in
the studio. I was waiting for everyone to get ready, when I started
on this groove, which ultimately became the intro that you hear
at the beginning of the song. The president of Gas Records was
in the control room and asked over the talk back.."what
is that Jimi" I responded "just something I'm working
on." "I like it , finish it a we 'll record it today"
I wrote some words, I really didn't have to think very hard for
these lyrics.. The song Goodbye Farewell was born. We recorded
it that day, mixed it the next day and three days later they
had it pressed and released. A few months later the song was
released on Buddha Records in the USA and we were told that Neil
Bogart really liked the band. The song became a hit more in Canada
and is still being played today. This was Abraham's Children's
first hit. Recorded at RCA Studios - George Semkiw - Engineer
,- George Graves Mastering.

Thank You 1973: Gas Records -BNOS4019
Words & Music by Jimi Bertucci & Ron Bartley - 1973 The
band would release two singles. This was the song that introduced
the band to that big string sound (pre ELO) ,,,,Arranged by David
Van De Pitte a talented arranger and musician. Thank You would
solidify the band as a bubble gum chew. The melody and hook of
the song was followed by large strings. The song gained even
more attention for the band and now the radio stations were feeling
comfortable with this pop band. Thank You was also released on
Buddha in the USA and Polydor in Europe . A thrill I remember
to this day, was receiving a post card from a friend of mine
that was visiting Germany and in her card she writes..."Jimi
I can't believe that I'm listening to Thank You on the radio
as I'm doing 90 on the Auto baun..... Love Helena". Recorded
at RCA Studios - George Semkiw - Engineer - Paul Gross - Producer.

Roll Over Rover 1979: BNOS4020 Words &
Music by Jimi Bertucci This is a rock nroll song to be desired.
Recorded at Phase One Stuidios in Toronto, Canada. When we recorded
this song it started off as just a song, half way into into we
realized this is hot. Once again we there were no overdubs just
basic tracks. Although the song was never released we decided
to add it to the 30 cd. This kick ass song was always a hit when
we played it live. It features Danny Smith on drums, Laurie DelGrande
on guitar, Jimi Bertucci on bass and Ron Bartley on guitar. Jimi
singing lead and Laurie doing back up vocals. We had intended
to finish the song and have it ready for an LP but it never happened.
" You're aplaid skirt bitch, you moan when you start to
itch"

Wickless Dynamite 1981: A&M Records
BNOS4021 Words & Music by Jimi B - Not too many writers will
attempt to compose a waltz and get away with it...unless you're
Billy Joel, Strauss, or Jimi B. His second single taken from
the self-titled album, this is about flirting with danger and
imprisoned emotions. The 3/4 timing of the song carries itself
with the traditional feel of a waltz, and the poetic lyrics are
profound, yet not. The train tracks are real, and were the back
drop for Jimi when he lived in The Annex of Toronto, Canada.
When Jimi gave Rob Guseve the chord chart for the song he quickly
caught on. Recorded at Masters Workshop Toronto Canada

Music by Jimi Bertucci There were two versions of this song recorded.
The first one was recorded at Phase One Studio with Laurie Del
Grande, Dan Smith and Ron Bartley. The band was still called
The Police. After Jimi decided to go solo he would record this
song with a new arrangement at Cottingham Sound. The lineup included
veterans Rob Gueseve on keys, Gary Craig on drums, Peter Follett
on guitars and John Chirowski on bass. Behind the board was the
talented Tom Atom. The original recording appears on the 30 cd
by AC. Although the production was never finished they decided
to use the raw recording anyway.

One of Jimi's newest recordings. This song has everything to
do with the power of hope and faith. A moving ballad with an
inspirational spiritual edge. With You Turned Me Around, Jimi

it comes to reaching out and touching his listeners. Recorded

I Wasn't Searching - Eccentricity
CDs & Records S102507 - When I hear a song that excites me
I want to SHOUT it out to the world. I do a tremendous amount
of music surfing and I can honestly say I have songs coming out
of my sunglasses....This song vibrates the inner boundries of
reality. "I was an island so far away" simple volcanic
expression of lost love. This is a painting of sculpted hard
words that attach themselves to the cells of your soul. Do we
listen to messages of tormented ambiquity.....or has society
become accustom to drive thrus. This is a sit down stand up song.
